Director of Academic Services
Kate is an Arizona and nationally certificated school psychologist and earned the status of Diplomate in School Neuropsychology from the American Board of School Neuropsychology. She maintains memberships with Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA), Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA), National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), and Arizona Association of School Psychologists (AASP). Kate is on the board of directors for the Arizona chapter of LDA and The Center for Habilitation (TCH), located in Tempe.
Kate completed 19 years in the public schools, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive and meaningful assessment, family advocacy and engagement, collaborative team practices, transition to postsecondary education and employment, and school-based crisis prevention, intervention, and response. Kate’s background enables her to integrate neuropsychological principles and educational practices to assist students and their families in understanding unique learning needs and facilitating progress within the school system.
In addition to being a member of the Beljan assessment team, Kate specializes in wraparound services that link evaluation data with the practical implications for academic and personal development. This includes advocacy and supporting parents in understanding and navigating the educational system so they may support their student with a disability. Kate also provides reading and tutoring instruction utilizing Lindamood-Bell’s evidence-based programs.
